Inaugurated in 1978 to mark the 150th anniversary of the writer’s birth in Nantes, the Jules Verne Museum invites you to discover the author and his world, through a rich collection of books, manuscripts, documents, illustrations, poster, objects, models, multimedia contents, etc.
Streets, squares, cafés, schools, statues, parks… The names of Jules Verne, his works and his characters can be found all over the world. This interactive map is a tool for learning about and referencing these places of memory, which bear witness to the international scope of the cultural legacy of the author of Voyages extraordinaires. Explore its contents, or easily contribute to its enrichment by reporting your discoveries!
Nantes is home to the autograph manuscripts that make up the forewords to 100 novels, short stories, plays and other writings by Jules Verne, a unique corpus of over 15,000 sheets that allow us to follow the development of the work as it was written by its creator.
The Jules Verne Museum houses a rich and varied collection of manuscripts, books, related products, posters and contemporary works of art inspired by the author.
