Jules Verne Museum

A journey into the world of Jules Verne

Inaugurated in 1978 to mark the 150th anniversary of the writer’s birth in Nantes, the Jules Verne Museum invites you to discover the author and his world, through a rich collection of books, manuscripts, documents, illustrations, posters, objects, models, contemporary creations, multimedia content…

Open the door of the Jules Verne Museum and discover the literary universe of the man who is now considered one of the fathers of science fiction and pop culture.

A place to discover

Housed in an emblematic 19th-century bourgeois house, the museum overlooks the Loire, the primary source of inspiration for the writer of the Extraordinary Journeys cycle. From the terrace, take in the landscapes that inspired his imagination, then extend your visit to the garden.

Temporary exhibitions

The museum regularly puts on a new temporary exhibition as part of its visitor itinerary. It extends the theme of the permanent exhibition, exploring the different facets of Jules Verne’s work.
